We're Growing! In May of 2006, The National Museum of the American Coverlet opened one room in Bedford, Pennsylvania’s former Common School building. A number of coverlets, some early weaving equipment, and the beginning of the Museum Shop, were opened for visitors. In October, NMAC expanded its public areas to over 4,000 sq. feet, including more space for exhibits, a larger Museum Shop, and the room designated for the research library. Over the next few months, we will expand yet again, adding more exhibit rooms and the final, full-sized Museum Shop. The Museum is a work in progress, and we hope it always will be. Our Grand Opening celebration has been set for Memorial Day weekend, 2007; but we are open daily now. Hours are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. You are welcome to stop in and see the developments. It’s a great chance to see all that is happening here in historic Bedford, Pennsylvania. Help Us Grow
