PRESS RELEASE COVERLET MUSEUM ANNOUNCES The National Museum of the American Coverlet, in association with textile designer Mary Koval and Windham Fabrics, has announced the development of a new line of cotton fabric using pattern motifs taken from coverlets in the Museum collection. The cottons will be sold by the yard and in quilt kits, containing both patterns and materials. Windham Fabrics, a division of Baum Textile Mills, recognizing the need for more quality quilting and crafting fabrics, works extensively with quilt historians and well-known designers from around the world and is an award-winning leader in the marketplace. It is known for its authentic reproductions of antique fabrics and sells almost exclusively in quilt shops. The Coverlet Collection cottons will be available at the Museum shop in Bedford, Pennsylvania, as well as high end quilt shops around the country, beginning in (approximately) May. National advertising will begin soon. The Museum Shop, located in the Coverlet Museum building at 322 South Juliana Street, Bedford, PA, currently offers a growing selection of items including reference materials, mugs with the Museum logo, woven textiles based on old coverlet patterns, and more, some of which will be available soon on the Museum website at www.coverletmuseum.org. Proceeds from sales go to support The National Museum of the American Coverlet. |
